📖 Static demo — read-only snapshot

You’re browsing a static build of the Body IQ knowledge graph, so everything loads with no backend. A few things that need the live server are turned off here:

  • Global search (sidebar) is disabled — it queries the API.
  • The JSON API and the API “Try it” playgroundaren’t included.
  • The data is a snapshot — it refreshes only when the demo is rebuilt, not live from the database.

Everything else — the body map, progression ladders, coverage heatmap, exercise finder, and all anatomy/exercise/source pages — works fully. The full app (live search + API + database) runs from the source on GitHub.

Positions & Range of Motion

Start
seated upright holding a near letter chart at reading distance with a matched far letter chart placed across the room at distance
End
gaze alternating between near and far charts, reading a row on each as quickly as possible while keeping the letters sharp
Range of Motion
isometric posture — ocular accommodation/vergence shifts near-to-far with minimal head or body excursion

How to Perform

A near letter chart and matched far letter chart are placed at distance. The user alternates reading rows on the near and far chart as quickly as possible while maintaining clarity. Trains accommodative facility.

Coaching Cues

  1. 1

Letters must be sharp at both distances before moving on

    (verbal)
  2. 2

If text stays blurry on switch, slow down — you're outpacing accommodation

    (verbal)

Evidence-Based Dosing & EMG Data

Recommended Dosing

5–10 minutes/day as part of an office-based vergence/accommodative program.

Muscles Involved (0)

No muscles linked.

Easier Variations ↓

1

Larger Letter Chart

Use a larger font chart at both distances to reduce accommodative demand.

Harder Variations ↑

1

Smaller Font / Longer Distance

Move the far chart farther or use a smaller font row.

Research Notes

Component of the CITT office-based protocol sequence. Effect is studied within the multimodal vergence/accommodative program rather than in isolation [Scheiman 2020 Cochrane; Chang 2021 Ophthalmology].
