📖 Static demo — read-only snapshot

You’re browsing a static build of the Body IQ knowledge graph, so everything loads with no backend. A few things that need the live server are turned off here:

  • Global search (sidebar) is disabled — it queries the API.
  • The JSON API and the API “Try it” playgroundaren’t included.
  • The data is a snapshot — it refreshes only when the demo is rebuilt, not live from the database.

Everything else — the body map, progression ladders, coverage heatmap, exercise finder, and all anatomy/exercise/source pages — works fully. The full app (live search + API + database) runs from the source on GitHub.

Positions & Range of Motion

Start
supine and fully supported, body relaxed with arms resting at the sides, attention ready to move sequentially through body regions (feet → legs → pelvis → trunk → arms → head)
End
same relaxed supine posture, pausing at each region for 30-60 s of interoceptive attention followed by a gentle micro-movement of that region (toe wiggle, ankle circle, pelvic rock)
Range of Motion
minimal — small isolated micro-movements at each region within a largely still, restful supine hold (near-isometric)

How to Perform

Sustained mindful interoceptive attention directed sequentially through body regions (feet → legs → pelvis → trunk → arms → head), combined with gentle micro-movements at each region (toe wiggle, ankle circle, pelvic rock).

Coaching Cues

  1. 1

Pause at each region for 30–60 s — note what you notice without changing it

    (verbal)
  2. 2

Then move that region gently and notice the change

Evidence-Based Dosing & EMG Data

Recommended Dosing

10–20 minutes per session, 3–5×/week.

Muscles Involved (0)

No muscles linked.

Easier Variations ↓

1

Static Body Scan

Drop the movement; just direct attention.

Harder Variations ↑

1

Body Scan + Breath Pacing

Sync the body-region transitions with slow inhale/exhale.

Research Notes

MBSR-style body scan with added movement. Strongest chronic-pain evidence for MBSR overall: SMD −0.76 for pain intensity at 8 weeks, weekly 90–120 min sessions [Zhu 2025 J Psychosom Res; Price & Weng 2020].
