You’re browsing a static build of the Body IQ knowledge graph, so everything loads with no backend. A few things that need the live server are turned off here:
- Global search (sidebar) is disabled — it queries the API.
- The JSON API and the API “Try it” playgroundaren’t included.
- The data is a snapshot — it refreshes only when the demo is rebuilt, not live from the database.
Everything else — the body map, progression ladders, coverage heatmap, exercise finder, and all anatomy/exercise/source pages — works fully. The full app (live search + API + database) runs from the source on GitHub.
Side-Lying External Rotation
Positions & Range of Motion
- Start
- side-lying on the uninvolved side with a towel roll under the working elbow, elbow bent 90° and pinned to the side, forearm rotated down across the abdomen holding a light dumbbell
- End
- shoulder externally rotated so the dumbbell rotates up toward the ceiling and the knuckles aim at the far wall, towel still trapped under the elbow
- Range of Motion
- glenohumeral external rotation from internal/neutral up to end range, elbow fixed at 90°
How to Perform
Side-lying on uninvolved side with a towel roll under the working elbow. Elbow at 90°, externally rotate shoulder against light resistance.
