📖 Static demo — read-only snapshot
You’re browsing a static build of the Body IQ knowledge graph, so everything loads with no backend. A few things that need the live server are turned off here:
- Global search (sidebar) is disabled — it queries the API.
- The JSON API and the API “Try it” playgroundaren’t included.
- The data is a snapshot — it refreshes only when the demo is rebuilt, not live from the database.
Everything else — the body map, progression ladders, coverage heatmap, exercise finder, and all anatomy/exercise/source pages — works fully. The full app (live search + API + database) runs from the source on GitHub.
Scapular Upward Rotation
Scapulothoracic Articulation • Shoulder • frontal plane
Rotation of the scapula so the glenoid faces upward. Essential for overhead arm elevation.
Normal Range of Motion
The scapula upwardly rotates approximately 55-60 degrees during full humeral elevation (about 1 degree of scapular rotation per 2 degrees of glenohumeral motion, the 2:1 scapulohumeral rhythm). This is measured with inclinometers or motion analysis in research, not standard clinical goniometry, so no AROM/PROM goniometric norm is set here.
Source: No AAOS/Norkin & White goniometric norm; kinesiology literature (e.g., Neumann; Inman scapulohumeral rhythm)

| Muscle | Role | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Serratus Anterior | Primary | Particularly lower fibers; rotates inferior angle laterally |
| Upper Trapezius | Primary | Pulls acromion superiorly |
| Lower Trapezius | Primary | Pulls root of spine inferiorly |
