📖 Static demo — read-only snapshot

You’re browsing a static build of the Body IQ knowledge graph, so everything loads with no backend. A few things that need the live server are turned off here:

  • Global search (sidebar) is disabled — it queries the API.
  • The JSON API and the API “Try it” playgroundaren’t included.
  • The data is a snapshot — it refreshes only when the demo is rebuilt, not live from the database.

Everything else — the body map, progression ladders, coverage heatmap, exercise finder, and all anatomy/exercise/source pages — works fully. The full app (live search + API + database) runs from the source on GitHub.

Positions & Range of Motion

Start
standing, entering a chosen static or dynamic stretch position, attention on the breath and target tissue, breathing slowly through the nose
End
stretch held at the edge where sensation is clear but not painful for 20–30 s, then a slow mindful transition to the next pose with 10–15 s rest
Range of Motion
tissue-specific stretch to comfortable end range, held 20–30 s; slow controlled transitions between poses

How to Perform

Static or dynamic stretches paired with mindful body awareness. Hold 20–30 s, rest 10–15 s, transition slowly between poses, breathe through the nose at a slow pace. Attention stays on the sensations in the stretched tissue and the breath.

Coaching Cues

  1. 1

Hold each stretch at the edge where sensation is clear but not painful

    (verbal)
  2. 2

Transition slowly — the transitions are part of the practice, not interruptions

    (verbal)

Evidence-Based Dosing & EMG Data

Recommended Dosing

30 min/session, 2–3×/week (Terzioğlu 2025 RCT protocol).

Easier Variations ↓

1

Single-Pose Awareness

Pick one stretch; spend 3 minutes with full attention rather than running a sequence.

Harder Variations ↑

1

Add Breath Pacing

Sync the stretch hold with 4–6 slow breaths; transition on the exhale.

Research Notes

RCT of online mindfulness-based stretching (30-min sessions × 5 sessions) improved well-being in health-sciences students. Distinct from passive stretching by the active attention component [Terzioğlu & Çakır-Çelebi 2025 J Clin Psychol — RCT].
