How to Perform

Standing hip hinge with bodyweight or light load emphasizing posterior chain loading while maintaining neutral spine. RDL produces the greatest peak hamstring force (1.6 BW BFlh, 1.9 BW SM) and greatest peak hamstring stretch among common exercises, exceeding sprinting demands. Eccentric training including RDL reduces hamstring injury by 56.8-70%.
